Milling
Shaping
Boring (vertical and horizontal)
Precision grinding for cylindrical surfaces
16m Lathe machine
6m Lathe machine
Numerical and computer-controlled shaping machine

The 16m lathe machine is first of its kind in the whole of West Africa.  It is used for
machining and carrying out repairs on propeller shafts for big merchant ships and
warships.

For perfect finish and mirror smooth surface grinding, the surface grinding machine in the
mechanical workshop is one of the best in its category.

The heavy duty machine, the radial (cylindrical) grinding machine is very important for
cylindrical surface mirror finish up to micro on cylindrical pieces of up to 1.5m in length and
0.5 diameters.

Arsenal Workshop

This workshop is suitable for the repairs of marine electronic system such as navigational
aids (radar, gyro, log & echo sounders) communication equipment and fire control systems.

Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP)
The workshop is also equipped to manufacture other accessories/components for the
auto/communication industries e.g. car bumpers, satellite dish accessories, mud guard and
fenders, lagging of oil pipelines etc.

Hot Dip Galvanising
This is the most economical and best established means of preventing rust where repeated
painting is not feasible.  The following facilities exist in the Galvanizing workshop:

Phosphate bath- this bath is for degreasing
Acid bath to remove rust and all other impurities from the surface of the job to be galvanized
Water rinsing bath
Flux bath
Overhead cranes for mechanical handling of the jobs.
The baths size is 21.5 ft length x 4 ft breath x 8 ft deep

Electroplating

Electroplating is a form of metal protection by the use of direct current and electrolyte of
metallic salt to coat a structure with the base metal.
Our Electroplating Workshop can handle the following:

Chrome plating (whereby chrome is deposited on the job by electrical means)
Hard Chroming
Cobalt Chroming
Copper Cyaniding

Carpentry Workshop

This workshop is well equipped for carpentry, joinery and cabinet works.  Seasoning and
painting of wood are also carried out at the workshop.  The workshop is capable of
handling any customized wood works.  Our team of qualified in-house architects will be
glad to place our professional advice at your disposal at no extra cost to you.

To ensure that we meet our deadlines, our ultra modern wood working machines are
serviced by a 500KVA (standby) generator: Hence we work round the clock, just to satisfy
our clients.

Facilities available at the workshop are:

Sawmill with overhead loading crane
